Diamond Elite Skills Camp With Little League over and tournaments in full swing, time for serious players to take your diamond skills to the next level with Dragon Baseball Coach (and former YMCA sport and camp Director) Neil Domer-Shank’s elite skills camp. A mixture of drills, games, and live action scrimmages help coaches assess your child’s current skill level, challenge their on-field growth, and provide each child with a detailed plan for improvement. Coach Domer-Shank’s combination of baseball expertise and YMCA leadership experience lends itself perfectly to dynamic group instruction and fundamentally sound individual guidance. Coaches will cover Allstar/AAU level elements of hitting, pitching, infield and outfield play, baserunning, conditioning and the mental aspects of the game. Players will come out of this camp with an elite-level understanding of the sport, peaking self confidence, and a bright outlook for future success. PS: They will have a BLAST doing it!
Diamond Beginner Skills Camp This introductory course -- for young players who are either new to the sport or still developing confidence -- will cover basic, building block skills in a fun and campy way. Players will enjoy new and exciting approaches to each element of the sport – including teambuilding challenges, group drills, live games and much more. Coach Domer-Shank’s two decades of YMCA experience will show in the variety of fun-focused games and drills, and his positive and affirming way with the children. Coaches will cover elements of hitting, pitching, fielding, baserunning, and mental aspects of the sport. Your child will leave this camp with a better understanding of baseball, a growing self-confidence, and a detailed practice plan for the future.
About our instructor
In the mid-nineties Coach Neil Domer-Shank was a standout baseball player in the Buckeye state, before coming east as a YMCA sports and camp director – serving the Y for over a decade. Domer-Shank’s professional experience developing and delivering curriculum, training and managing coaches and staff, and motivating youth manifest themselves uniquely in his approach. Domer-Shanks’s players and teams are praised for their work ethic, class and sportsmanship on and off the field, and an elevated understanding of the game. Domer-Shank’s U13 Team – The East Granby Dragons -- went 55-8 in 2012. The squad of eleven year olds won the U13 Mass State B Division Championship, along with multiple other tournaments.
